The Dragon’s Hoard
Dragon’s Hoard Card Box was a 3D product design as part of my 3D foundations course which required a final working product model and product advertising poster. There were no limitations on product type or material allowing full creativity for this project.
Ideation
Initial Drafts
The initial inspiration came from early sketches of card box designs when I was younger. There was a particular dragon scale design that knew I wanted to focus on for this project. When I was in ideation, a dragon’s treasure theme emerged, and I felt a 3D printed model would work best and allow me to become more familiar with 3D modeling. When given so much creative freedom, it can be challenging to make decisions but following a structured design process with proper planning and ideation helped bring structure and focus to the project.
Final Drafts
The final card box and card box chest are 3D printed in multiple colors and designed in Fuzion. The advertising poster features the final product inside a Blender-designed textured dragon’s cave, reinforcing a cohesive fantasy theme and the dragon’s treasure.
